Welcome to Wellness! YMCA Wellness that is. I am so excited to begin this new adventure of a blog! Here at the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA our goal with the blog is to bring to you great information on health and wellbeing as well as current information on events at the Y.
For over the past 14 years the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA has served the youth, adults and families of our community with programs and activities that strengthen sprit, mind and body. We have achieved recognition and earned a reputation as one of the leading human social service agencies in our area.
In an effort to present the leading information on wellness there will be multiple authors and a variety of subject matter. Over the course of the blog we will introduce you to health professionals as well as current subject matter to help you make the best choices for you and your family when it comes to health and well being.
My name is Christy Marthaller one of several Y staff that will be administering/contributing to the blog. The Y has been my home for over 8 years with a beginning in aquatic fitness. I am now a Senior Program Director overseeing several departments including Aquatics, Mentor Program, Child Watch, Active Older Adults and miscellaneous other projects like marketing and first aid training.
Looking ahead some subjects to look forward to include Resolutions-how to make them a reality; Training for Triathlons; Heart Health; Diabetes Prevention and lots more. We will also include introductions to some of our Personal Trainers who will be contributing to the blog as well as other Senior Staff here at the Y who will be giving their input. We would love to make it a blog that you come to for wellness information so if you have questions or subjects you would like us to cover contact me at christym@kandiymca.org. Looking forward to this grand adventure! Join us…. Here we go!
